This two-hour webcast is the second installment in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Faster-Cheaper-Greener webcast series, hosted in cooperation with the Water Environment Federation. Presentations will focus on Prince George’s County’s (Md.) stormwater retrofit public-private partnership (P3) model, which has been highlighted by the Obama Administration and EPA as a potential template for addressing large-scale stormwater costs through private investment. The Prince George’s County program is the first example of Community-Based Public-Private Partnerships for stormwater, a concept being promoted by EPA Region 3.
Webcast speakers will illustrate key steps communities can take for setting up and implementing a successful P3 to finance a green infrastructure-focused urban stormwater retrofit program. Speakers involved with the webcast represent key players leading the county’s P3 program as well as champions of EPA Region 3’s approach. These speakers will include:
- Deputy Director Dominique Lueckenhoff from EPA Region 3’s Water Protection Division
- Director Adam Ortiz from Prince George’s County Department of Environmental Resources
- Executive Director Roland Jones from Prince George’s County Supplier Development and Diversity Division
- Deputy Director Larry Coffman from Prince George’s County Department of Environmental Resources
The webcast will take place Jan. 13 from 1-3 p.m. Eastern, and two Professional Development Hours will be offered. Those interested in attending can register online.
