The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced the request for proposals for its 2013/2014 Urban Waters Small Grants program. This year, EPA plans to provide $1.6 million for research, training, surveys, and demonstrations advancing the restoration of urban waters while simultaneously revitalizing communities and fulfilling other local priorities. Grants will range from $40,000 to $60,000 and will be awarded only within 18 eligible geographic areas. The submission deadline for proposals was recently extended to Dec. 16. Read more.
