In the July 30 Federal Register, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a proposed rule requiring electronic reporting for National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits. The proposed rule would be phased in during a 2-year period and seeks to improve NPDES data sharing, reduce reporting burdens, and streamline permit renewals. EPA is accepting comments on the proposed rule until Oct. 28. Learn more.
