USGS announced the Baseline Streamflow Estimator (BaSE) on Feb. 22, and Pennsylvania is one of the first states in the nation to have such a tool. BaSE uses 50 years of daily mean streamflow data for ungaged sites and enables users to estimate streamflow in minutes, once a time-consuming task for ungaged sites. The streamflow statistics generated can inform decisions on water quality, ecosystem health, withdrawal, allocations, and wastewater permits. Read more.
